Her other nick names are Häxa hund, crazy dog, Hazel-Nut.
Hazel is from our second litter. Hazel was my pick puppy among the litter of seven for her balanced structure and adventurous spirit. She was my saviour when ZZ died unexpectantly. She demanded that I pay attention to her. We did agility, earthdog and of course dog shows.
Hazel got her Championship title winning 5 point major Best of Winners at the International Kennel Club of Chicago, Inc at 6 months old. We had to travel to get that last major as there was no competition in the upper midwest. We went to Portland OR, and quickly finished at the Terrier Association of Oregon, also winning Best Bred By In Show. She went on to get her grand champion points and winning a group 4 in a huge group of terriers at the Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon, Inc. She finished #6 in All Breed.
She was awarded Best of Opposite at the 2016 Border Terrier Club of America Nationals Specialty. She is my first regular group winning dog. She also had many wins in AKC National Owner Handler Series, including Best In Show and many group wins. She earned her NOHS Silver.
Hazel loves to show, but she loves to work even more. Her instincts are not outweighed by her athletic ability that would serve her well in the rocky border region of England. She was an earthdog machine! She loved getting those ratties. Her hunt ups were exceptional, and you knew just where the rats were with her loud bark.
Hazel now lives with our son and daughter in law in Bloomington MN. She loves her big yard that she shares with Barry.
